About

Who We Are

Provision House is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), non-residential addictions ministry that helps Christians find true and lasting freedom from addiction in Christ and advocates understanding addictions from an emphatically biblical perspective.

What We Do

Provision House is actively engaged in teaching The Biblical Provisions for Addiction to individuals, families, and the church. Individual counseling is also available.

What We Believe

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God.
We acknowledge the Creator, God, as our heavenly Father, infinitely perfect, and intimately acquainted with all our ways.
We claim Jesus Christ as Lord, the very God who came in human flesh, the object of our worship and praise.
We recognize the Holy Spirit as the third member of the Godhead, incessantly at work convicting, convincing, and comforting.
We believe that Adam's fall into sin left humanity without the hope of heaven apart from a new birth, made possible by the Savior's death and bodily resurrection.
We believe the offer of salvation is God's love-gift to all. Those who accept it by faith, apart from works, become new creatures in Christ.
We believe that anyone who trusts in Christ by faith is a new creation in Him, clothed in His righteousness, and fully loved and accepted by God.
We believe that God expects our lives to reflect that we belong to Him, that we are pursuing a holy life, and that we are continually endeavoring to fulfill His purposes for our lives.
We believe that Satan, under the sovereign permission of God, attempts to destroy the faith of believers, and that drawing near to God is the only way to resist him.
We believe that as new creations in Christ, we will continue to wrestle with indwelling sin. We will, however, continue to grow in grace and become more like Jesus. Ultimate perfection and complete sinlessness, however, will only come when we finally stand in the presence of the Lord.
We believe that, as believers in Jesus Christ, we are members of His universal church and that the local church is the place God has designed for His people to worship Him, observe the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Table, and love and serve other Christians.
We believe that, having embraced Jesus Christ by faith, we are to make Him known to non-Christians in our sphere of influence.
We anticipate our Lord's promised return in power and glory.
We are convinced that all who have died will be brought back from beyond, believers to everlasting communion with God and unbelievers to everlasting separation from God.

Meet Paul Stark

Paul, an ordained minister, is founder and executive director of Provision House, and has been involved in addictions ministry since 1998. His approach to addictions started as research for a seminary thesis entitled, The Biblical Provisions for Addiction, and an irresistible call upon his life to fulfill this ministry. He has conducted numerous Breaking the Chains workshops and seminars at churches and regional Christian conferences, and has applied the principles in several residential recovery ministries.

He also has an undergraduate degree in business and has attended two ATS accredited seminaries. He was Northeast Regional Manager for Gospel Light Publications, an international, non-denominational Christian education and book publishing organization. He also co-founded Techniscan Corporation in New Jersey.

Paul continues study and research for the purpose of further developing a biblical theology of addictions. He is also encouraging churches to consider addictions from a theological perspective and not merely medical, psychological, or sociological perspectives.

He and his wife Rosangela live in the Charlotte, North Carolina area.

When my recurring trouble with addiction to pornography came to a crisis point, I sought help from the Breaking the Chains Seminar offered by Provision House. I found there a series of teachings specially suited to my particular need and which ran deeper than anything that I had encountered in my three-and-a-half decades of walking with the Lord. The instruction was biblical and comprehensive in its treatment of spiritual strongholds and Christian service, and gave me the tools and ammunition I needed to successfully deal with my problem. I enthusiastically recommend Paul Stark and Provision House for anyone who is struggling with an addiction and desires a cogent, scriptural solution.  Jim, Charlotte, NC

Dr. James H. Ballard

Paul Stark's seminar and ministry dealing with addictions from a Christ-centered, biblically based approach has had an 84% success rate.  As former director of counseling at Hickory Grove Baptist Church and founder and director of Healing the Hurt Ministries, I highly recommend Provision House to those coping with addictions of any kind.

Rev. Kelvin Smith

The church really needs to open up her doors to any and all people and provide avenues by which they can come to Christ, and Provision House can be an awesome avenue by which that can be accomplished.

Dr. Maurice Henson, Jr.

I personally read his materials and listened to the philosophy. I found it to be biblically based, and to the degree it was applied, quite effective in those who were a part of the group.

Randy Hill

I could not believe it when I started reading Paul’s philosophy on addiction. I realized that everything he said reflected a great deal of my own personal struggles with 12-step recovery. I praise God for your work in His service. It is a valuable ministry and the need is great.

I truly believe that Paul is gifted through Christ to help people find freedom. His compassion is seen right away. My behavior has totally changed because of how he presents this ministry. He never once came across as judgmental. His work I feel is truly Christ ordained. I thank the Lord.
