We can help you to both establish a group in your church and to find the right leadership to make it effective.
Our philosophy regarding groups of this kind is that they should not become a place of indefinite duration for the participant. Rather, they should serve as a place where seminar graduates transition into active and productive church life. Every person's "support group" is the church, and there should not be a "special group" where individuals could be stigmatized or ostracized by other church members. Efforts toward entire spiritual formation are infinitely more effective when they occur in the context of a church's established preaching and teaching programs as opposed to a group, which should have a relatively narrow and particular focus.
The time in this group, which varies with each individual, is designed primarily to build upon the foundation established in the seminar, support the individual in further spiritual formation, and lead them into the exciting discovery of God's purpose for their lives.
Another function of the group is to provide the church with a resource for referring individuals who sincerely desire to find freedom from addiction, but as Christians, are not inclined to investigate nor participate in secular "recovery" programs. We equip group leadership and support them in evaluating which course of ministry is best for each individual.
The group's ministry would also contain an evangelistic opportunity for lost persons.
